Deanne Castronini

Deanne joined the Bannister In Home Care Board in 2013 as a non-executive Board member. Deanne is also a founding Director of Bannister Technical Pty Ltd

Deanne has a diverse range of experience in a number of areas of endeavour. In the Bannister Technical Registered Training Organisation business, Deanne took on the important role of Compliance Manager and ensured that all operations, products and services met and complied with the regulatory requirements of an RTO.

Deanne has been a Director and Board member for over sixteen years and played an important part in establishing Bannister In Home Care. Deanne is passionate about the well being and positive outcomes for the individual and is committed to the concepts of Consumer Directed Care and Person Centred Care.

Deanne’s strengths sets include, managing compliance, designing and conducting internal audits, participating in external audits, recruitment of training staff, performance management of training staff and staff development and she will bring these to the Board of Bannister In Home Care..

More recently Deanne has worked intensively in the field of adult education for non English speakers and in training and instructing Pilates.

Deanne’s qualifications include, Masters of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL),

Bachelor of Education in Adult Education, Diploma of Business Management, Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method, Certificate IV in Training and Education, Certificate IV in Laboratory Operations.

Helen Austin
Service Manager

Helen Austin joined Bannister In Home Care in March 2014 as a Care Service Scheduler responsible for the matching and allocation of support workers to care recipients. This required that Helen developed and maintained an indepth understanding of our clients’ needs and our support workers competencies.

Helen progressively took on additional responsibilities associated with assessment of clients, developing appropriate care plans and case management.

In May 2017, Helen accepted the role of Service Manager. As Service Manager, Helen has overall responsibility for service delivery. This includes case management, compliance, quality assurance, continuous improvement, support worker training and general management.

Helen ensures that the principles of person centred care are embodied in all aspects of Bannister In Home Care services. She understands and is capable of managing services to clients receiving subsidised care services. Helen works with third party organisations such as other providers for whom we provided brokered services, hospital discharge planners, NDIS planners, NSW Family and Community Services, ACAT’s, insurance companies, etc.

Helen reports to the Chief Operating Officer and provides operational reports directly to the Bannister In Home Care Board at scheduled Board Meetings.

Helen has developed a wide ranging network of contacts and relationships within the care and support sector and is highly regarded and respected.

After gaining her NSW Nurses Registration Board Certificate of Registration, Helen worked as a Registered Nurse at Royal North Shore Hospital. She worked in Accident and Emergency, Respiratory and AIDS, Opthamology and Medical Overflow. Helen then went to work at Rozelle Psychiatric Hospital and worked in Acute Psychiatric and Drug and Alcohol wards. She was responsible for running weekly inservice sessions to provide patients with knowledge surrounding the effects of drugs and alcohol. She then embarked on a career in small business, marketing and sales before returning to the nursing workforce at Royal North Shore Hospital. Here she worked in Orthopaedics and was in charge of many shifts. Helen is not currently registered as a Nurse. Helen recently completed the SPARK of life course, a contemporary philosophy for health professionals and family caring for people with Dementia.

Helen decided to return to the care sector when she joined Bannister In Home Care after caring for a family member at home for five years.

Helen is an integral member of the Bannister In Home Care team and is a considered a Key Personnel.

Brian O’Donnell
Chief Operating Officer

Brian is our Chief Operating Officer and an Executive Board Member.

He has more than thirty years’ experience in senior and executive management roles in the Government and Private sectors. This included a fifteen year career with the Australian Customs Service reaching Chief Inspector Level and a further career with Qantas as a General Manager before joining Bannister Technical in 2005. During this time he has gained extensive experience in workforce development, project management, contract management, legislative and regulatory compliance and service delivery.

Brian was involved in the establishment of Bannister In Home Care and now oversees the day to day operations of the business and is responsible for strategic and business planning.. Brian is committed to leading Bannister In Home Care to be a provider of high quality in home care. He is committed tot providing care services based on Consumer Directed Care and Person Centred Care.

Brian is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Peter Neave

Peter has over forty years experience in senior management. As founder and Director of Bannister Technical Pty Ltd, Peter set up and grew the business from one client in NSW to a nationally accredited Registered Training Organisation that has trained over 10,000 students in a range of vocational qualifications across Australia.

In 2012, after a number of years experiencing in training students in the Aged Care and Community (home) care sectors, and working with employers and other stakeholders, Peter determined that there was a need for a high quality provider of in home care services. After a year of research, benchmarking and consultation using industry experts, Bannister In Home Care was established.

Peter is a Director and Chairman of the Bannister In Home Care Board where he provides governance and direction to the operation of the business. Peter is committed to providing services to people in our community based on the principles of Consumer Directed and Person Centred Care.

Christine Graffiti
Board Member

Christine Grafitti joined the Bannister In Home Care Board as a non executive Board member in June 2016.

Christine Grafitti is a Registered Nurse with over fifteen years management experience in the Health, Retirement Living, Aged and Home Care sectors. Christine developed her experience whilst working as a Manager, Regional Manager and Chief Executive Officer with private and non-for-profit organisations. This experience has enabled Christine to develop an in-depth understanding of the operational, financial, clinical and governance requirements of these sectors.

Christine is passionate about transformational leadership and has undertaken further studies in Management and Training to develop this knowledge and skill. She is committed to providing exceptional home care services in accordance with Consumer Directed and Person Centered Care principles. Christine adds significant value to the Bannister In Home Board through her senior management experience in the Aged Care sector.Christine has undertaken consultancy and special projects for Aurrum, Castellorizian Aged Care, Cabrini Care, Critical Success Solutions, National Nurses Plus, IBIS Care and Bannister in Home Care.

Christine holds a Bachelor in Nursing, Diploma in Management and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and assessment. She is the Managing Director of CLW Business Services providing consultancy to the Aged and Home Care industry sectors. Christine is member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
